This cake starts with a box cake mix, but once you add the other ingredients, it transforms it into a dense, moist, special treat. Great as a layer cake or a 9x13 cake. The recipe makes 7 1/2 cups of batter, which filled my 9x13 pan almost 2/3 full. The cake did not overflow the pan and was relatively level, no big hump in the middle. This would make a wonderful birthday cake.
White Velvet Cake
Ingredients:
1 box white cake mix
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/3 cups water
3 eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp vanilla
Mix the water,eggs, sour cream, and vanilla with paddle attachment then add the other four ingredients. Makes about 7 1/2 cups batter to fill two full 8" rounds,
Bake as directed by box instructions.
I used a metal 9x13 pan, baked at 350° for 35 minutes.
